7. What do tutors do on the Fridays when they’re in the classroom? 

The Fridays when Reading and Math Buddies spend their two hours in the classroom, they are there to assist the teacher. 6. When do Reading and Math buddies meet with students? 

In general, the buddies meet with students following this weekly schedule: Monday through Thursday: TC Buddies spend roughly 30 minutes with each of the 4 students Morning hours are preferable for scheduling (between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.) Friday: TC buddies spend alternate Fridays either (1) in the classrooms with all students or (2) in …

5. Where do buddies meet with students? 

Before we start, the buddies need help finding a place to work together. Somewhere quiet is preferable; libraries and lunch rooms have worked well before. It would also be helpful to have a safe place to leave our things in the classroom each day.

Throughout the year it would be helpful to maintain communication. The simple answer is no. At the foundation of this program is consistency. Meeting on a daily basis is important so that the buddies can form a trusting relationship. Therefore, it’s important that the students chosen will be able to participate in the daily tutoring for the entire duration of the program (September to April). Please …
