Yolanda Bromfield

| September 8, 2011

My name is Yolanda Bromfield and I am a second year Math Buddy! I am currently a Sociology and Education M.A. student. Beforecoming to Teachers College, I received a B.S. in Music Education from Hartwick College.  My research interests include race/ethnicity, sexuality, and gender issues that arise in urban public schools. I believe that students should be allowed to safely engage in discussions about privilege and power as they relate to educational inequities. When not contemplating life’s mysteries, you can find me listening to hip-hop, classical music, and jazz. I am an avid fan of scary movies, exotic ice cream flavors, and Thai food. I’m so excited to be working as a Buddy again. This experience has impacted me intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally. This year will be a great oppurtunity for me to learn from and positively impact four different students!
