I was born and raised in Los Angeles. My perpetual journey in academia and my love for language began at the University of California, San Diego where I studied English Literature as an undergraduate. Thereafter, I moved east and received my Masters in Humanities from the University of Chicago. In 2009, I spent the summer completing my Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Now, I’m a first-year Masters student in the Speech Language Pathology program at Teachers College. Before moving to Brooklyn, I was an Adjunct English Professor for four years and taught at several community colleges and universities in the Los Angeles area. Outside of academics, my wanderlust obliges me to explore the sights, sounds, tastes and feel of the city whether they’re in the form of inspiring live performances or delicious food. I’m very much honored to take part in Arthur Zankel’s vision in bringing about a meaningful change in education; through the hard work and courage of my students and the collaboration with my colleagues, I look forward to helping make this happen.
